FOOTINGS
South Molton Tar Pavers prepare the Footings for Conservatories and other outbuildings. We start with the Ground works, Dig out and prepare the base ready for you to build. These Footings are typically filled with 600mm by 500mm of footing concrete known as strip foundations. Brickwork is then built up to damp proof height so it will be the same height as the internal floor. Making sure no vegetation soil exists on the floor area hardcore is spread over the area and compress with a whacker plate this makes a good solid floor for the concrete to be poured onto. Sand is then placed on top of the hardcore to cover any sharp hardcore which could pierce the membrane. We then place a damp proof membrane on top of the sand blinding and insulation is placed on top of the membrane. The concrete floor is then poured and trowelled over to provide a smooth surface ready for you to build on.
